The commercial complex, developed in partnership with Rede Zaffari and Uma Incorporadora, is a notable addition to Porto Alegre's urban landscape. Located in a prime area near the intersection of Carlos Gomes and Dr. Nilo Peçanha avenues, the project comprises two commercial buildings and the new Bourbon Shopping Carlos Gomes by the Rede Zaffari. We were responsible for the Zaffari sectors, which include the shopping center and one of the commercial buildings, covering a total area of over 56,000 square meters. Bourbon Shopping Carlos Gomes offers a variety of services, including a Zaffari supermarket, cinemas, restaurants, and numerous shops, establishing itself as a hub for convenience and leisure in the region.
The project presented several technical challenges, which we overcame with innovative solutions tailored to the project's specificities. These challenges included eight-meter cantilever beams supporting escalators fixed at the ends, requiring precise engineering to ensure stability and safety; spans of over 20 meters in length; and expansion joints between sectors supported by neoprene pads, allowing for the absorption of thermal and structural movements to prevent damage to the structure.
To meet the diverse architectural and functional demands of the complex, we employed a combination of techniques and materials. This included conventional slabs and beams, flat slabs, ribbed slabs and steel structures, always selecting the most appropriate solution for each context. This multifaceted approach ensured the seamless integration of different project elements while maintaining efficiency and aesthetic design. The result is a modern and functional space that meets the commercial and leisure needs of the community, reflecting our commitment to quality and innovation in every detail.
