Sector:

One of the tallest buildings in Brazil, with 45 floors and over 150 meters in height, the Paradise Sky Tower is located in Chapecó, Santa Catarina. Its foundations comprise approximately 200 piles and 930 m³ of concrete in foundation blocks and beams.

To ensure the stability of the structure against significant lateral wind forces, a central rigid core was designed to encompass the elevators and staircase of the building. The structure was engineered with high rigidity not only to withstand static loads but also to address dynamic effects induced by wind. Detailed assessment of these effects was conducted through wind tunnel tests. The results indicated that under wind action in the direction of maximum structural stiffness, there were more pronounced displacements perpendicular to this direction, highlighting dynamic amplification due to alternating vortex shedding.
